Career Progression
Platform Engineer (2017-2019)
Upon joining Wikiloc in January 2017, I delved into the role of a Platform Engineer. This position was an open door to a realm where my contributions directly impacted a burgeoning community of users. The environment was electric; not only was the project awe-inspiring, but the team—brimming with talent and dedication—was nothing short of spectacular.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributed to major features and functionalities.
- Worked closely with the core team to ensure platform scalability and reliability.
- Utilized the diverse technology stack, including Java, Postgresql, Ansible, and Javascript, among others.
- Collaborated in building and maintaining the backbone of the platform, ensuring seamless user experiences.
Senior Software Engineer and Project Manager (2019-Present)
Graduating to a senior role, my responsibilities expanded manifold. Beyond technical contributions, I undertook managerial roles, steering teams towards the realization of our collective goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Led major frontend and backend developments, significantly enhancing Wikiloc’s platform.
- Masterminded the creation of user-friendly interfaces as the principal frontend developer.
- Pioneered the integration of key purchase channels, including Google Play, Apple Store, and Stripe.
- Orchestrated financial reporting and ensured seamless backend processes.
- Worked intimately with a product-driven team, making strides in our vision and continually enhancing the platform.
Signature Projects
- Web Search Page Redesign: Spearheaded the initiative to revamp the web search page, elevating the user experience and interface.
- Vue.js Componentization: Championed the componentization of Vue.js, ensuring modular and maintainable code structures.
- Purchases Integration: Solely managed the integration of primary purchase platforms, thereby streamlining the revenue generation process.
- API Integration for the New Wikiloc App: Collaborated with the team to integrate APIs, boosting app performance and user engagement.
- Wikiloc Image Renderer: Took the lead in developing in-house image renderers, which now serve hundreds of terabytes of image data annually.
